SobaZaGosteMaribor: Spoznaj rezidentko Asjo Trost

V torek, 24. 10. 2023, te ob 19.00 vabimo v OBRAT – prostor umetnosti in participacije na Trgu revolucije 9 na pogovor z umetnico in predstavitev njene umetniške produkcije. Asja Trost je aktualna gostujoča umetnica rezidenčne platforme SobeZaGosteMaribor, v Mariboru pa smo jo že spoznale_i na festivalu StopTrik, pri nas bo ustvarjala v letošnjem oktobru.

Sama se opiše v šaljivem tonu, ki ni daleč od resnice: "Asja se ukvarja z raznovrstnimi podobami, večinoma so te premične, v bolj ali manj logičnem sosledju. Deluje mednarodno, včasih v teatru, šoli, kinu ali na ulicah. Uradna animatorka, neuradna opazovalka in urejevalka okolja."

• Asja Trost (1990, Ljubljana)

je diplomirala iz digitalnega oblikovanja v Berlinu, kjer je tudi delovala do 2016, kasneje je magistrirala na Akademiji na umetnost v Novi Gorici pod mentorstvom Jasne Hribernik in Mihe Colnerja. V svojem magistskem delu se je ukvarjala s produkcijo sodobne umetnosti, s fokusom na institucionalizirano obliko umetnosti in aktivizem. V svojih delih uporablja kombinacijo analognih in digitalnih medijev, z animacijo, preslikavo in eksperimentalnim filmom pa predstavlja različne družbene situacije, ki vplivajo na vsakega izmed nas. Kot režiserka in animatorka je sodelovala pri produkciji več filmov. Animirala je več glasbenih videospotov in reklam, z video instalacijami je sodelovala pri več skupinskih razstavah. V 2018 je v Carinarnici v Novi Gorici pripravila prvo samostojno razstavo. Od 2016 deluje mednarodno, brez stalnega naslova in trenutno živi v Ljubljani.

Asja Trost is a new guest artist of the GuestRoomMaribor residency platform, and we have already met her in Maribor through the StopTrik festival.

She describes herself in a joking tone, which is not far from the truth: "Asja works with a variety of images, mostly moving, in a more or less logical sequence. She works internationally, sometimes in the theatre, school, cinema or on the streets. Official animator, unofficial observer and environment editor. "

• Asja Trost (1990, Ljubljana)

graduated in digital design in Berlin, where she where she worked until 2016, and later received her Master's degree at the Academy of Arts in Nova Gorica under the mentorship of under Jasna Hribernik and Miha Colner. In her master's thesis, she focused on the production of in her Master's thesis. In her works uses a combination of analogue and digital media, with animation, mapping and experimental film, representing different social situations that affect each one of us. As a filmmaker and animator, she has been involved in the production of several films. She has animated several music videos and commercials, she has participated in several group exhibitions with video installations. In 2018, she has made several animated films at the Carinarnica in Nova Gorica in 2018. Since 2016 she has been working internationally, without a permanent address and currently lives in Ljubljana.
